2026 Spring Break Youth Corps Applications Open March 14

Jefferson Land Trust’s Youth Corps paid internship is back this spring, offering local high school students (ages 16+) the chance to earn $350 while gaining hands-on conservation experience in the field.

From April 13-17, 2026 nine students will work alongside Land Trust staff on habitat restoration and stewardship projects across east Jefferson County. Corps members spend the week outdoors on our permanently protected nature preserves, tackling real-world conservation challenges. From invasive species removal to forest and stream restoration, students will have the chance to learn alongside conservation professionals about career pathways in natural resources and environmental science.

This is a field-based, physically active internship designed for students who enjoy working outside and want to make a tangible difference on protected lands. The program runs daily from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, with transportation available from Port Townsend and Chimacum.

Applications open March 14 and are due by March 30. Selected participants will be notified on March 31.
