Policies that Guide Our Process
The policies formally adopted by our Board of Directors as part of the national Land Trust Accreditation Commission’s accreditation process are used to guide our operations.
Jefferson Land Trust was fully accredited by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission in August 2009, re-accredited in 2015 and 2020, and has applied for re-accreditation again in 2025. This accreditation formally recognizes that Jefferson Land Trust adheres to the national Land Trust Alliance’s Standards and Practices. Adhering to these policies demonstrates to supporters and the larger community that Jefferson Land Trust is a solid and trustworthy organization.

Economic Benefits of Conserved Lands
Jefferson Land Trust partnered with The Trust for Public Land and North Olympic Land Trust to study the economic value of the conserved farms, forests, trails, and parks in Jefferson, Clallam, and Kitsap counties. A special report entitled, “The economic benefits of conserved lands, trails, and parks on the North Olympic Peninsula” was published in January 2021. The report finds that conserved lands are key economic drivers that generate hundreds of millions of dollars in economic benefits each year.

Jefferson Land Trust is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Any donations made to the Land Trust are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
